Voltage and Current

Post by pyr0boy » Wed Dec 28, 2016 3:21 am

Just looking for a little clarification before I purchase a Stepdunio.

While the quick start guide says that the 12 VDC input listed on the board should match your stepper motor, it doesn't seem to indicate what the max voltage is, I currently am looking at Nema 23 motors which seem to be generally 24volt, and am looking for sizeable ones with current up to 5A each.

What are the maximum voltage and amperage values for the stepduino?

Thank you

Sorry for the slow reply.

If you look at the specifications section at the bottom of this page: http://www.freetronics.com.au/pages/ste ... GXr6sN95hE it lists the StepDuino voltage specifications as:

7-28V DC recommended
5-40V DC maximum

I hope this helps!

Thanks for that Daniel,

How about the current rating? I'm looking at a 2 amp stepper motor.
