Hi Guys.
Was just reading up on your new cnc shield. I am currently in the process of building a shapeoko cnc which has 3 stepper motors (1 for each axis). My question is will you guys be releasing a board which can control 3 stepper motors?
CNC SHIELD
Re: CNC SHIELD
Sorry for the late reply.
The original board (which was developed as part of the HackCNC project for the LCA mini-conf) has 2 stepper drivers on board, and output ready for connecting a third stepper driver, such as a Pololu A4988 or Pololu DRV8825. Therefore the board will control 3 stepper motors, but you need to supply the 3rd stepper driver board.
FWIW: I actually am involved a lot with 3D Printing, so I'm interested in a board that drives more than 3 stepper motors and has a few "switched" outputs for controlling other things (eg: spindle motor on a CNC mill, or a hot end on a 3D printer). Will discuss with Jon and Marc and see what comes of it!
