Hi,
I last week purchase 3 ATmega328P MCU with Arduino Uno bootloader and wired it up on a breadboard as per "Build your own Breadboard Arduino" at freetronics.com
However, when uploading sketches the IDE finally shows an error: "stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00".
I'm using an FTDI USB to UART adaptor with TX-->RX, RX-->TX, DTR-->RST (via 0.1uf cap and 10K pullup). Tried with 100uf, tried with CTS-->RST, 3.3v, 5v...
Any idea?
thanks

If possible, could you please take a clear photo of your breadboard with the assembled circuit and email it to us?
thanks
