Atmega328P Crystal

Post by avrdude » Fri Oct 11, 2013 11:11 am

Hi,
I'm planning on using Atmega328P for a custom Arduino project, just wondering, does it require an external crystal oscillator or can it run without it?
Thanks

You can use the internal oscillator - there's discussion about this here:

Thanks I checked it out, I think I'll just stick with external, looks pretty complicated. I was just experimenting with reducing power usage with the 328P and thought using the internal would reduce power.
