Multirole Case for Freetronics Boards

Post by Start1Out2 » Fri Nov 15, 2013 9:45 am

Hi People.

I would like to see a single type of case that could be utilised with all Freetronics boards. My vision for the Ideal case would have a couple of different lids or front panels with cut outs for lcd and oled displays with the option of opaque or clear finishes. Also with the clear type they could be dyed say red, green, yellow, blue etc. The rear panel would have several variations as you would need on for each different board. The cases would add a professional finish to an already excellent product. The cases would also need a grid array of blind holes in the bases that would match the mounting holes on the various Freetronics boards. Finally Freetronics could sell the different panels so that project builders could mix and match panel colours and types and the product would become synonymous with the Freetronics brand.

Cheers all

That's a great idea, however the cost for injection moulding all those pieces would be north of $50k.

We have seen some customers with access to 3D printers make their own, for example:
