Only single click for on and single click for off. All depends on the button count in the sketch.

I didn't end up trying the four buttons at this point in time because I figured I didn't need a separate button for the driveway lights since they operate off the PIR anyway, so I went with 3 and successfully got that working like a charm over wireless. (See pics)

I agree that with four switches you may have to use the daughterboard option given the lack of real estate. I think if you're happy using MQTT etc, then you could easily get away with a single switch for on/off however it's not wrong to use two.
