Upside down display

Is there a way to make the display read the other way around, i.e., upside down?

Not really, the display has a set method of drawing characters in hardware.
You could carefully remove the display, solder jumper wires from the main board to the LCD and mount it rotated at 180 degrees.

Thanks very much - that was my suspicion. I have redesigned the prototype to suit.
