Cube 4 not recognized in Windows 10

I recently assembled a cube 4 kit. It seems to work well.
It is not recognized in Windows 10. I get a message from Windows that the device has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it.
In Device Manager it is listed as "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)"

I have installed the drivers for the LeoStick as recommended on the product page, I am using the latest non-beta version of the IDE.
I have tried two different computers and several USB cables.
I generated a ticket with Freetronics with no response yet.
I am out of ideas and I am a bit frustrated.
Has anyone else had similar problems?
Does anyone have a solution?
Thanks for your response.

Hi, I just posted a comment about pretty much the same thing. I even went to a back IDE just to make sure. Now, I get a flash when uploading
the test pattern, but that is it. The upload completes without any errors. In someways, I think the bootloader is corrupted even though Caterina is present in the downloads. Something isn't working right.
