Post by theitguy4196 » Mon Oct 27, 2014 11:01 pm

Hiya all,

Im fairly new to this whole arduino thing, i purchased the 4x4x4 cube from jaycar the other week and am very very happy with it! The arduino language is very logical ;)

but just a question for all the ones smarter than i, how can i connect the cube up to another arduino with say an LCD shield attached, for loading programs?

get where im going with this??

any help or suggestions greatly appreciated!

When you say "for loading programs" - do you mean to put a new program (code) on the cube?
If so another Arduino isn't necessary, it connects directly to a PC.

Or if not, could you please explain what you would like to do? :)

You need a connection to a computer of some sort that can run the Arduino IDE or use an ICSP programmer to upload a new sketch.

Hi
Is a differnet topic but I am in the process of hooking my Cube up to a seperate Arduino with BlueTooth so I can program it from my Android phone. Have done this Android/Arduino over bluetooth before on diferrent projects. Am going to use the IC2 connection to connect the Cube Base with Arduino+BlueTooth board. So the cube will just accept basic SetLed commands from the Android program which will handle more complex routines for drawing lines, etc. The user will be able to swipe the screeen to turn on LEDs for example.

This would mean that you can run different programs (i.e multiple sketches) from your Android phone.

Let me know ifyou are interested in collaboratting on this type of work an we can share some effort.

Jim
