Eleven as a keyboard

Hey all im new to all this im doing a special project of mine but basically what you need to know is i have 10 push buttons that i want to register as a keystroke every time i press and hold or press it and im not really sure as to how to do this

Itd be amazing if people can help me i have a eleven and a usbasp avr icsp programmer can i get a video with how to do it or place the code that i can copy in and have it run straight away please?

also will i be able to supply power to this and still use the the buttons so that i can not have it plugged into a pc

You can do it with an Eleven/Arduino Uno, however if it is possible the project would be much easier with a Freetronics LeoStick or Arduino Leonardo - as these can directly emulate a USB keyboard.
