Unable to see port - Mac Mojave

Can't see my Freetronics Uno in the port within the tools section of Arduino software. It won't appear. I'm on a Macbook pro early 2015 running Mojave.
I understand there are drivers that could help but I'm concerned about downloading anything nefarious to the computer.
Does anyone know a driver that hasn't seemed to be a problem/gone through this process themselves?
I have already tried changing from usb 3 to usb 2 connection.
Obviously I'm a newbie at this.
Would appreciate help so I can kick on. Thanks.

Obviously you are going to need the appropriate driver - you won't get anywhere without that. You could start here.
