LeoStick does not work with USB3 ports

Post by nibbler » Sat Oct 05, 2013 11:46 am

Just posting this here for anybody who has been having issues getting their LeoStick to function when connected to USB3 ports.

The LeoStick will not work when connected to USB3 ports. I have confirmed this across hardware from GigaByte, AsRock/ASUS and HP.

If your system has only USB3 ports (such as my ASUS laptop), connect a USB 2.0 hub to the USB3 port and then connect your LeoStick to one of the USB 2.0 ports (on the hub).

When operating on a USB3 port (without a hub), the LeoStick will appear in the device manager, and appear to be installed correctly, but uploads to the device will never complete.

This is starting to sound like it might be a USB3 chip-specific driver issue (ie: the driver for the chip on the motherboard).

Mine works fine and I have a toshiba qosmio, seems like what cef says is right, it's to do with specific usb drivers.

i have tested on as many USB3 laptops and pc's as I could find with no issues at all. 5 model Sony Vaio's, 3 model Dell, 2 HP's and 2 Lenovo's. I suggest you have some other issue.
