Hey all,
Just after some clarification on what type of power supplies should be used (or avoided) when trying to power two DMD's.
I have a couple of old mobile phone chargers here that are rated at 5v. One has 5v/500mA written on it, the other has 5v/800mA written on it. Will any of these be worth cutting up and powering the DMD boards?
Any other suggestions for external DMD power other than using an old computer PSU? Or is there something available from jaycar that could power a standalone arduino and a couple of DMD displays from a single power pack?
Thanks guys!
Dave

Re: Multiple DMD with single external 5v power supply
I went to altronics and bought a 5v 4A plugpack to power 3 dmd's. Doesn't get warm yet. still too bright for my camera ....

I'm running 2x DMDs off a 5V 3A (I think, it might be 2A) switch-mode supply from a dead external USB HDD enclosure. They're bright... too bright to photograph.
