Good day gents
I'm recently used DMD2 library
I connecting 16 DMD,P10 with Arduino Uno
4 width, 4 height
It's working but the speed of Arduino is slow
The speed of changing is taking delay
1.Any help to faster the rate of changing ,make Arduino faster
2.when make serial communication with another Arduino the Rx TX take long delay time
Any help with this issue also

Thanks
Ahmed

Ahmed1,
The short answer is that you have too many DMDs for a single Arduino to handle.
There is no way to improve the performace with that many DMDs.
You will have to re-think how you drive such a large array by either using a much faster processor, or changing the architecture of your design such as maybe using a master to communicate with several slaves, each driving only a limited number of DMDs.

What kind of processor can work with this panels
What is the maximum number of panels can Arduino work how it calculate

Thanks
Ahmed

Hi Ahmed

Because I've found it unstable with ATmega328 based Arduino above 6, I've kept my designs to 6 or fewer. Others on this forum have stated they've had success with more.

Cheers, Geoff

Hi Ahmed. I had the same problem. I had to used DMD library to solve the problem of the slow scrolling. Try this. Good luck

Using the DMD library you will definitely not be able to run with your 4 x 4 DMD array. You need to limit the number on a Uno or equivalent to 6, or even fewer if you want your processor to do any other work. There simply insn't enough time to update 16 DMDs at a rate acceptable to view.
You might want to look at this thread - as well as others on this forum.

May be using an Arduino Due that is much faster than Uno.

Hi plito,
He does state in his initial post that he is using a Uno.
