I've been pulling my hair out with (essentially) the same problem before finding this post. I didn't realise the common was the positive, so I had my coil's negative attached to the same common ground :)

Might want to update the product page/quickstart guide to mention that the positive is common. (Unless I just missed it!)

EDIT: Or I could have just looked at the board and clearly seen the positives on the same track :P

I'm trying to drive a solenoid valve rated at 8W using 24V.

For as far as I understand the relay4 board should be able to handle this, however the transistors get hot and it seems like one of them has died as a result.

Could it be the inrush current? Or is the rating for this board too high?

Same problem as above, a bit embarrasing when my rc bar fridge lost steering at bathurst. Took a spare with me and it too failed after only a few hours of operation.
