How to use the NDRIVE: N-MOSFET Driver / Output Module

Post by monkymoo19 » Thu Feb 06, 2014 11:39 am

Hello all,

I'm new to electronics and Arduino, and I bought an experimenters kit and an NDRIVE module to power some small 12v motors but there is no help anywhere on how to use the module. Could anyone even just give me a link to a tutorial or something explaining how to use it?

Thanks

Thanks for the reminder.
NDRIVE is very easy, consider the following:

You turn it on or off with a digital output pin connected to G.
GND for the Arduino and device under control is connected to S.
Power for your motor starts at the supply (Vcc), goes through the motor then is connected to D.
Don't forget to put a power diode across the motor to prevent back-EMF - anode on the MOSFET side of the motor.

cheers
John

Thanks for the link to the photo and instructions. I connected it all up correctly including diode but the motor spins as if i only put about 2.5v to it but my vcc is 12v?

Are you using PWM or just turning the MOSFET off and on?

Just using

Code: Select all

  digitalWrite(motorpin, HIGH);
(motorpin is the variable for my pin on the eleven i'm using)
and then making it LOW to turn it off

Ok, good. How are you connecting the wires to the NDRIVE?
