RGBLED module - New Arduino library available (FTRGBLED)

Post by angusgr » Thu Dec 05, 2013 3:55 am

We have a new library available for the RGBLED full colour LED modules (WS2801 controller based.) It's called FTRGBLED. Comes with 3 example sketches to get you started.

Get the library here:
https://github.com/freetronics/FTRGBLED

The RGBLED QuickStart guide includes some steps for installing it:

Now supports the ARM-based Arduino Due and compatible as well.

Has anyone used this library to control an LED strip (~160 LEDs) using an EtherMega or simillar. I am curious whether the 2560 is able to reliably address these. I am toying with the idea of setting up an EtherMega as an ArtNet controller to drive a 5m strip.

Hi CodeStorm.

Although we only support the individual RGBLED module, the library should work fine with strips.

No, the library only supports WS2801 at this stage.
