Unable to Put USB-Serial Adapter into DFU Mode

Post by pfruia » Thu Apr 26, 2018 7:46 pm

Hello All,

I would like to flash new firmware to the USB-Serial adapter atmega16u2 chip. I have shorted the DFU pads, but I continue to receive the message "no device present" when I attempt to run:

sudo dfu-programmer atmega16u2 erase

Has anyone had success with this? Is there something more that needs to be done other than just shorting the DFU pads?

For additional information, I am running a MacBook Pro with macOS High Sierra. I have MacPorts installed and updated, as well as the dfu-programmer. The device is connected via USB to my computer and I can see it registered with system.

Thanks for your assistance!
