I am in the process of making a softball scoreboard. My prototype uses an IR remote to control scores, outs, innings, etc. Since the final version will be out in the bright sun, I would like to use an RF remote in place of the IR remote. Will the RX433 be suitable in this application? Does anyone have an experience using a similar TV remote or similar application?
Thanks

Re: Can the RX433 shield be used to decode Directv RC 73 remote
Haven't heard of anyone doing this. I think you would have to do your own decoding which may be a challenge. Maybe if you could get hold of the receiver/decoder from an old set it might make your task easier.
Do they even run at the same frequency? The 433mHz band covers a range of frequencies.
Also the RX433 is very prone to noise problems with resulting erroneous output.
