Re: Ep 5: Installing conduit under an existing footpath

I was surprised too! I thought I'd be there for an hour slowly working it through, but by agitating it slightly backwards and forwards it moved forward visibly each time. We have lots of clay, but covered by reasonable topsoil. The bottom of the trench was into the clay layer in places. The spot I p...

Ep 5: Installing conduit under an existing footpath

This episode is a bit different: no electronics, just getting dirty in the front yard installing conduit. The interesting bit though is that I tried a technique called "water boring" to pass the conduit under the concrete footpath in front of my house. More here: http://www.superhouse.tv/episode/5-i...

Re: What is the trick to get windows 7 working with card

When you say "this didn't work for me", what do you mean by "this"? Have you tried the unified .inf file that's referenced in the current documentation? I don't understand why people are saying to use the modified version of the old .inf file. The .inf that's linked from the current documentation sh...

Updated Experimenter's Kit project guide now available

Version 1.1 of the Experimenter's Kit Project Guide is now available as a PDF. This is the version that will be in the next batch we produce, but in the meantime it's also useful for anyone who already has the kit. Changes include: Layout diagrams made much bigger to make them easier to follow Posit...

Re: What is the trick to get windows 7 working with card

Now go to the where your LeoStick_Bootloader_Driver_v1.inf file is saved & open the file for editing, use notepad. That file was made obsolete some months ago when we switched to a unified USB .inf file for all products. I didn't think it was being referenced anymore in any of the guides. Where did...

Re: Sorry for the silence

Hi Ben, yes, I'll definitely be at LCA in January! I've booked accommodation but haven't got as far as arranging travel yet. The Arduino Miniconf should be another fun one: the hardware project being prepared has been kept secret until now unless people happen to be hanging around on the right maili...

Re: Sorry for the silence

I've been wanting to avoid going to that sort of extreme if it could be avoided, but the spam just keeps on coming so it may be necessary. Last night I upgraded phpBB and the Anti-Spam control panel to the latest versions at @cef's suggestion. The new version has Kismet support (which is a paid serv...

Ep 4: Making home automation gear run quietly

I put this vid up a while ago now, and totally forgot to mention it here! Oh well, better late than never. I've found that the second-hand Ethernet switches I use in my home automation system have annoyingly loud fans, so I modified them to run the fans more slowly and connect to my Arduino-based en...

Re: Sorry for the silence

About the spammers, yes, there are 4 people with admin privileges on the forum who work hard to delete them (@cef cleaned up something like 600 spam accounts in the last 2 weeks) but it's a constant battle.

Re: Sorry for the silence

Erg, I'm sorry to hear it got you too, and on your honeymoon! That totally sucks. Perhaps you need to arrange a second honeymoon once you're fully recovered to make up for it.

I hope you're recovering fast.
