Re: Accepting input from Serial monitor to display it on DMD display

Convert the variables to a string then append them to your original string.

Re: Data Polarity

Once again, if you do not post your sketch, I can only guess at what you are doing. From the download via the link you provided, it appears to be the DMD library. In that download there are several examples which will help you understand how these DMDs work. Try 'dmd_demo' and see how that goes. If ...

Re: Data Polarity

Difficult to give an accurate answer without knowing more about your sketch. I will assume you are using the DMD library as you mention 'DMD Lib' and not DMD2. If that is the case, have a look at the format of drawMarquee(): drawMarquee(const char *bChars, byte length, int left, int top, byte fgcolo...

Re: Driving 48 panels

I suspect you will have a trouble achieving your goal with unos. You are correct with the basic limit of 6 DMDs on a single uno, so you would have to set up a master/slave configuration. However I doubt a single uno as master could handle enough slaves. And you would not be able to achieve any accep...

Re: Hi I'm new here

When you are within a thread you only have the option to post a reply to that thread. You need to go one level higher in the forum menu to post a new topic under that topic.

Re: Why two mosfets in circuit for "N-MOSFET driver"

Just a suggestion, but maybe because the WS2811 is a current driver device it cannot be guaranteed to reach appropriate logic levels to fully drive the NTD5867.
You could try an email to support@freetronics.com.au and see if they have design details.

Re: External data not reading

In

Code: Select all

dmd.drawString(  0,  0, (t), 3, GRAPHICS_NORMAL );
Looks like (t) is only pointing to a character and you're trying to print a string?

Re: Missing characters from serial input when using DMD2

Sorry but I can't offer much help here as I have not done much with DMD2. You could try limiting your serial while loop to doing nothing but gathering the input characters and putting them into a buffer and see if that has any effect.

Re: Missing characters from serial input when using DMD2

I suspect your sketch is spending too much time in the interrupt updating the DMDs. It will take quite a while to do this with 10 DMDs. Characters will probably be lost during this time.

Re: MQTT really slow to subscribe

setLatchChannelOn() is a procedure defined at line 202 in the code provided in the earlier message so it should be available to you as long as you have the case correct case. NOTE the capital 'C' - you show setLatchchannelOn with a lowercase 'c' in your message and that will not work.
