Re: uSD card frame Slave Select SS

Hi Ozra, I understand your concern about the uSD SS pin not being as designed. It clearly wasn't the plan. The impact is quite high for PWM applications, which is why I have now called this issue out clearly in the User Manual. The Pozible project is closed now, as all the boards have been sent out....

Updating Eclipse AVR Plugin to support avrdude 6.0.1

There is a new avrdude available, the first one in two years, which fixes long standing configuration issues with the 1284p processor, used in the Goldilocks. But, using it causes its own problems, which have been addressed in a special release of the Eclipse AVR Plugin. The USPasp support also rece...

Re: How do you use INT2 in Arduino sketches

Ok. I admit that I'm guessing, but from the Arduino Reference it looks as easy as defining the attached interrupt number 2: int pin = 13; volatile int state = LOW; void setup() { pinMode(pin, OUTPUT); attachInterrupt(2, blink, CHANGE); } void loop() { digitalWrite(pin, state); } void blink() { state...

Re: goldilocks and cc3000

Yes, the variable would be __AVR_ATmega1284P__ It is usually put together with its "family" of chips, like: #elif defined(__AVR_ATmega324P__) || defined(__AVR_ATmega644P__)|| defined(__AVR_ATmega1284P__) || defined(__AVR_ATmega324PA__) || defined(__AVR_ATmega644PA__) The only place I see the tree is...

Re: Avrdude: verification error

Hi KristoZ, I think all the (current) problems stem from one point, the USBtinyISP. It may well be, but I can't confirm or deny, that it isn't capable of programming a 1284p. I know that some of the clone devices can't programme the 2560 properly. It might be that the same issue is plaguing the USBt...

Re: Avrdude: verification error

Hi KristoZ What you're seeing is correct. The USBtinyISP is programming the Goldilocks correctly. The correct result of programming the bootloader is to have the D13 LED just flash. That is the mode you see when there's nothing (except the bootloader) programmed. See the text file in the production_...

Re: Avrdude: verification error

Hi KristoZ now that is quite odd. First off, if you are using the USBtinyISPv3 then you don't need the bootloader on the 1284p. So that's one thing you don't have to worry about. You're writing direct to the 1284p hardware using the ISP function of the chip. [As an aside FYI, if you do like the boot...

Re: Avrdude: verification error

KristoZ, you're experiencing something that is pretty much an inherent problem with the use of the ATmega32U2 (or '16U2 in Arduino boards) as a Serial interface, whilst driving it with a main crystal of 16MHz. Basically its synchronization with the true USART rate is just crappy. Wormfood AVR baud c...

Re: Goldilocks with the Adafruit PN532 NFC Shield

Spidie, yes. Can take a wild guess. The Goldilocks is wired out of the box for Arduino R3 compatibility. This means that the I2C bus is NOT present on the Analogue 4 and 5 pins. They are up near the AREF pin. However, we know this is an "inconsistency", and many older (or even new) shields don't imp...

LUFA 130901 DFU & U2duino update for 32U2

Recently (September 1st) Dean Camera has released an update of LUFA 130901. I've rebuilt the DFU bootloader for the ATmega32U2 and the U2duino project for the ATmega32U2 based on his new core LUFA files. Whilst there are NO changes to the code relating to Goldilocks, for either bootloader or project...
