Re: Multiple SPI slaves

Thanks Angus! I created a simple prototype on a breadboard. Sharing the SPI pins didn't cause any problems when driving the DMD, but the nRF905 transceiver stopped receiving correctly. It was fine when I just shared the D13 (CLK), and D12 (MISO) is not shared as DMD doesn't use it, but when I tried ...

Re: Portrait Orientation

Yes, AA batteries should be fine for Arduino. We used a car battery only because we already had 2 so that was cheaper than purchasing rechargable AA batteries.

Cheers Wayne.

Re: Portrait Orientation

With respect to how to do portrait orientation ... Firstly, I'm not actually using portrait any more due to the asymetric physical structure of the DMD which limits the view angle from the left or right if oriented in portrait fashion. I'm now using 2x2 boards with extra large digits that span 2 boa...

Multiple SPI slaves

Could someone please confirm my understanding of how the LED DMD makes use of Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) as discussed below? I need to connect both a LED DMD display and a RF transceiver, both of which make use of SPI. As I understand, SPI is designed to handle multiple such slaves. All slave...

Re: Portrait Orientation

Thanks Angus. BTW, I wasn't having any trouble using the dmd library as I have created my own custom 32x16 digit font and was painting the pixels manually (as done within the dmd library implementation). I have however decided to go with a 2x2 landscape arrangement. My main issue now is the voltage ...

Portrait Orientation

Just bought and trialed a red dmd and found that a single 32x16 display powered from auduino is not bright enough nor large enough to be seen from distance outdoors. I basically need to display a timer/clock with 3 digit display. I was planning to buy 2 more dmd and arrange them side by side in port...

Servo wires

Hi, Just bought a new Experimenters Kit. According to project guide, Servo for project 6 should have 3 separate wires which are to connected to GND, 5V and D11. But the Servo provided with my kit has 3 connected wires with single 3 pin female connector. How do I connect this to the Arduino? Cheers W...
